Three teenagers, two of them juveniles, have been indicted on first-degree-murder charges in the shooting death of a 58-year-old man in south Minneapolis last month.

The body of Stanley Curtis Rogers was found Jan. 21 in a van parked in an alley in the 3600 block of Clinton Avenue S. He had been shot in the chest. His death was the city’s second homicide of 2011.

On Thursday, Ladell J. Johnson, 18, and Gary T. Griffin Jr., 17, both of Minneapolis, were indicted in Hennepin County District Court on two counts each of first-degree murder and one count each of attempted first-degree aggravated robbery.

According to charges, Johnson shot Rogers during a robbery attempt after Johnson had heard that Rogers often had money and crack cocaine with him.

Johnson and Griffin were arrested within a week of the shooting, and both made their first court appearances two weeks ago. On Thursday, a third suspect, Lordiss L. Stewart, 16, of Blaine, was indicted on charges of first-degree murder and first-degree aggravated robbery in the case.
